Dr. Sara Micotti, PhD

Sara Micotti, PhD –  Tavi trained child psychotherapist in Italy – is a child, adolescent and adult psychotherapist in Milan at the Centro Benedetta D’Intino and in Pavia privately. She is particularly interested in treating psychotic states in children and in working with infants/children and their families. She is a visiting teacher in Italian Universities and has lectured abroad (England, France, South Africa). She is an editor of the scientific journal Interazioni. She has been the Scientific Director of the Centro Benedetta D’Intino in Milan – a non-profit Service devoted to the prevention and cure of emotional suffering in families and children from birth to 18 years.

Here’s a little more information about the Centro Benedetta D’Intino: It was founded by a family of important Italian publishers 22 years ago (family Mondadori) with the aim of offering psychoanalytical psychotherapy to children and families from disadvantaged environments in the suburbs of Milan. Over the years we have developed the focus of our core research and practice, which has become parent-infant psychotherapy in the early stages of life and we have also organised conferences inviting relevant researchers in this field, for example Massimo Ammaniti (Rome), Antonino Ferro (Pavia), Katerina Fotopoulou (London), Vittorio Gallese (Parma), Tanja Gottken (Germany), Miri Keren (Israel), Anna Nicolò (Rome), Maria Pozzi (London, UK), Bjorn Salomonsson (Sweden), Mark Solms (South Africa), Daniel Stern (Geneva, Switzerland) and Majlis Winberg Salomonsson (Sweden), Yoram Yovell (Israel).
